Rick Hughes - President
Richard Hughes joined HealthLink Europe in February 2005. During his first year at HealthLink, Mr. Hughes was involved in the restructuring of the business and he became President when the company was refinanced in November 2005.
Before joining HealthLink Mr. Hughes was Vice President of Client Development for TriVirix, an FDA registered contract manufacturer of electronic medical devices, and he was with the company from February 2000, to January 2005. During this time TriVirix increased annual revenue from $1m to over $40m. Prior to joining TriVirix, Mr. Hughes spent six years with Vernacare a UK based hospital equipment and disposables manufacturer and became National Account Manager for North America.
Mr. Hughes holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Oxford Brookes University in the UK.
Joost van den Heuvel - Chief Operations Officer
As COO of HealthLink Europe, Joost van den Heuvel is responsible for overall operations including quality and regulatory certifications and procedures. During his 15 years of experience within a variety of logistic, entrepreneurial and ICT businesses Mr. Van den Heuvel gained extensive Supply Chain Management knowledge and was asked to join HealthLink Europe because of his reputation for being a focused manager concerning the processes for logistics and had the drive to execute his strategic focus.
Prior to his current position Mr. Van den Heuvel was part of the management in several logistic companies. During his role as a Supply Chain Manager he gained hands on experience in quality and operations. This hands on experience also includes consultancy and project management for Unit4 Agresso, a leading international business software company and Internet security solutions in the small and medium enterprise market.
Mr. Van den Heuvel received his Bachelor degree in International Business from the HEAO Economy and Logistics, (Utrecht The Netherlands).
Paul Smits - Chief Financial Officer
Paul Smits joined HealthLink Europe in 2005 and is responsible for the overall financial management and stability of the company. He manages day to day financial activities including financial reporting, fiscal representation and European Pay Roll handing.
Before joining HealthLink Mr. Smits worked for more than 5 years as Financial Controller for a European multilingual contact center that specialized in the technology Industry and is a recognized and respected provider of outsourced technical support and customer care services to leading technology companies. Prior to this, Mr. Smits spent several years working as the financial responsible for the one of the leading international trade companies in the Netherlands.
Mr. Smits holds a Bachelor degree in Economics from HEAO Economy in ‘s-Hertogenbosch.
Joachim de Jong – Operations Manager
Joachim de Jong joined Healthlink Europe in April 2009 as Operations Manager. His primary responsibilities will be to manage the implementation projects for new customers, develop our customer relationship management processes and provide value added information for existing customers. During his 14 years in the medical device industry Mr. de Jong has gained extensive knowledge in project management of order to cash and logistic projects for multinational corporations.
Prior to taking his position at Healthlink Europe, Mr. de Jong served at Philips Healthcare for almost 13 years where he gained his supply chain management experience, serving several different functions within their organization. During his tenure at Philips Healthcare, Mr. de Jong worked for a period of time in Miami, North America, and latterly was responsible for back office management for Philips Healthcare in the Benelux region.
